Fretless radio (or) A thorough and fashionable investigation.
Here is the recording of last night’s (2014-07-18) KNYO Memo of the Air: Good Night Radio show (*) ready to download and keep or just play with one click. It’s a pretty good show, and a long one. It features the first of a series of new stories by Alex Bosworth, who I remember telling you is not dead after all. Not only has he entirely recovered, apparently he’s been writing all this time. Huzzah is the word we apply here. Alex’ story Ellipse comes about three hours into the nearly eight-hour show.
(*) I’m experimenting with using only MediaFire to both archive these shows and make them available to listen to and/or download, and not duplicating the effort with Dropbox as I have been doing. It used to be that MediaFire confused potential listeners with advertisements for other items whose download buttons visually crowded out what you were there for in the first place, so it was easy to click on the wrong thing and become frustrated. That has changed; ohhh, there are still other items, including scare ads about how your computer is IN FEARFUL PERIL and NEEDS TO BE CLEANED NOW, but it’s easy to ignore all that and click on the right thing– there’s the file name, which always begins with KNYO, and there’s a green button next to it that says LISTEN. Also, MediaFire has its own player which begins instantly and doesn’t make you wait for the whole 150MB file to download before starting to play it, which in some browsers Dropbox does. If your experience is different from mine, or if you want to order me to make the world go back to the way it used to be when a tomato was a tomato, let me know. Anyway, this is to explain why when you click on the show link it looks different from what you’re used to seeing. Now it’s the same link as you’ll find via Links To Recorded Audio, above.
And here are some links to other things to enjoy that I found mostly thanks to the fine websites in the column to your right:
The latest North Korean advance in clockwork audioanimatronics.
Peaceful scene of an old Irish astronaut at home.
